Terry Porter has been a part of Indiana Wesleyan Athletics since the inception of intercollegiate sports in 1968. He has been head coach for women’s basketball, men’s golf, men’s tennis, and women’s tennis and was on staff with baseball and men’s basketball. Porter has a career record of 658-160 (.804) as a tennis coach and a 181-114 (.614) record as the women’s basketball coach. He was named NAIA Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year in 2004, was named MCC/Crossroads League Coach of the Year 23 times in four sports, advanced to 15 NAIA Women’s Tennis National Championships, and won four NCCAA Women’s Tennis National Championships.

We spent many weekend nights at his house playing euchre, eating pizza, and talking about life. He genuinely loved us and was interested in our lives beyond tennis and IWU. Even now, he stays current on what is happening in our lives and continues to invest in his former players.
