Hall of Honor
Linda Boyd (Williams), a remarkable athlete who left an indelible mark on the athletic legacy of then Marion College, graces the IWU Hall of Honor with many exceptional accolades. From 1982 to 1985, Boyd displayed her extraordinary athletic talent across three sports, excelling in volleyball, women's basketball, and track. With an unwavering dedication to excellence, Boyd propelled her volleyball team to two NCCAA National Runner-Up titles and secured her place on the NCCAA Nationals All-Tournament Team twice. Not only did she lead the Marion College basketball team to victory as the 1982 NCCAA District III Champions, but Boyd also etched her name in the program's record book as the sixth all-time leading rebounder with an impressive 799 rebounds. Her talent extended to the track, where she shattered records throughout her collegiate career. She set the Marion College program record for long jump her freshman year, along with six program records her senior season. Her crowning achievement came in 1985 when she helped claim the NCCAA National Championship in both the 400 Meter Relay and the 1600 Meter Relay.
