Durand ‘Speedy’ Walker attended Marion College from 1978-1982 and left his mark on the men’s basketball record book. Walker is second all-time with 2,409 career points and is first with 946 career assists. His 725 points during the 1982 season (23.4 points) is the most in program history and he owns steals records for single game (12), season (129), and career (422). Walker was a program changer for the Titans as they won just 29 games in the previous six seasons. Walker led Marion to 44 wins in his last two seasons, the first winning seasons in Titan history. Walker was just the second player in school history to be named NAIA All-American when he was voted to the Third Team in 1982.
