Director of Athletics (1984-2008)

Mike ‘Doc’ Fratzke was the Director of Athletics at Indiana Wesleyan for 24 years (1984-2008) and was named the 2008 NAIA Athletic Director of the Year. Under the watch of Fratzke, women’s cross country, women’s soccer, and softball were started while the women’s tennis program was restarted. Fratzke oversaw the construction of the Outdoor Sports Complex, Troyer Fieldhouse, the Sutter Tennis Center, and the $10 million renovation of the Recreation and Wellness Center. Athletic teams thrived under the supervision of Fratzke as Indiana Wesleyan won 11 MCC All-Sports Trophies. IWU won the All-Sports Trophy the final seven years that Fratzke led the department, which was part of the unprecedented 15 straight wins for the university.
