John Foss is one of the most successful student-athletes and coaches in the history of Indiana Wesleyan Athletics. Foss ran for the cross country and track and field teams from 1979-1983. He is the first NAIA All-American in school history when he earned the recognition during the 1979 cross country season and he would earn a second All-American honor during the 1982 cross country season. At the time of his induction, Foss finished his 29th year as men’s and women’s cross country coach and had concluded a 29 year stint as the men’s and women’s track and field coach. He coached nine individual national champions, 126 NAIA All-Americans, and 44 league championship teams.
