Softball Wins Against Huntington, Second Game Postponed

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan Softball took to the road for a doubleheader with Huntington University on Tuesday afternoon. Rain and lightning delayed the start of game 1, but once play commenced, IWU went to work. The Wildcats pulled out a 6-3 win in the first game. In the second game, weather once again was a factor and the contest was suspended after 2 innings of play.

After two scoreless innings to start the game, IWU gained a run in the top of the 3rd off the bat of Morgan Yeater. Huntington would tie it up one inning later. The Wildcats responded in the top of the 5th with 3 more runs from a bases loaded walk and a Leah May double that scored two runners. In the 6th, both teams added to their score, IWU with two more and Huntington with one more. Now with the score at 6-2, the Foresters made a comeback effort in the bottom of the 7th by scoring a run but were stopped from scoring any further.

Game 2 started after a short break but was stopped after two innings due to incoming severe weather. The game is suspended and will be completed at a later date.
