WINONA LAKE, Ind. — Indiana Wesleyan Men's Tennis fell just short in their battle with No. 20 Grace College on Saturday afternoon, 4-3. IWU swept the doubles point as all three doubles teams won 6-4 over their opponents. However, Grace was able to capture 4 of the 6 singles matches to secure the victory over the Wildcats.
The no. 1 doubles team of
Matheus Lima and
Michail Klinkov got it going, followed by
Timo Fischer and
Valentino Trento at no. 2 doubles, both winning 6-4.
Carter Poquette and
Isaiah Hostetler continued the trend by winning 6-4 at no. 3 doubles to sweep Grace in the paired matches. Lima kept up his winning ways by taking no. 1 singles for IWU. At no. 2 singles, Klinkov gave the Wildcats their 3rd point with a 3 set victory. The Lancers would then win at no. 3-6 singles to win 4-3 over the Wildcats.
