MARION, Ind. — Indiana Wesleyan Men's Tennis had their season and home opener against Indiana University East on Monday afternoon. The Wildcats dominated from the start and ended up sweeping the Red Wolves, 7-0. This marks the first win under new head coach,
Chris Tudor.
The long-tenured partnership of
Timo Fischer and
Valentino Trento got the first win of the match at No. 1 doubles followed by
Michail Klinkov and newcomer
Giuliano Puga at No. 3 doubles.
Carter Poquette and
Riley Fuqua finished out the doubles matches with a win as well at No. 2 doubles. Every Wildcat earned a win in their singles matches with none going to a third set. At No. 5 singles, Puga did not allow his opponent to take a point, winning 6-0, 6-0. The next match to end was Fuqua at No. 4 singles. Klinkov took a hard fought battle in the top spot 6-4, 6-1 before
Valentino Trento ended his match in the 3rd slot. Fischer and
Lewie Woody were the final two matches, both winning in two sets as well.
