SPRING ARBOR, Mich. — Indiana Wesleyan Men's Tennis took on the Cougars of Spring Arbor on Monday afternoon up in Michigan. The Wildcats came out on top with a 5-2 final for their 2nd conference win this season. Spring Arbor was able to win the first doubles match but
Isaiah Hostetler and
Carter Poquette answered with a 6-4 win to force the no. 1 doubles to be the doubles point clincher.
Matheus Lima and
Michail Klinkov did what they've done all season and took the match and the first point for IWU.
Michail Klinkov continued his momentum into no. 2 singles and increased IWU's lead to 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. SAU tied the match up at 2 a piece with a win right after at no. 3 singles. However,
Timo Fischer would retake the lead for the Wildcats with a 6-2, 6-4 effort at no. 4 singles. The match clinching point came from
Matheus Lima as he battled to a 3 set win at the no. 1 spot. The final two singles matches played on and Spring Arbor collected its 2nd point at no. 5.
Isaiah Hostetler would cap off the match with a 3 set tiebreaker victory at no. 6 singles, giving IWU their 5th and final point.
