HUNTINGTON, Ind. —
No. 20 Indiana Wesleyan Women's Tennis began their Crossroads season with a match at Huntington University on Saturday morning. The Wildcats set the tone early by taking two of three doubles courts to earn the first team point. At No. 1 doubles,
Sofia Munoz and
Nicole Puga produced a key early win, 6–4. IWU also controlled No. 3 doubles, where the pairing of
Lauren Dick and
Meribel Jarna posted a 6–3 result.
IWU carried that momentum into singles, winning five of six matches to close out the 6–1 team result. Munoz led the effort at the top of the lineup with a gritty three-set victory at No. 1 singles.
Meribel Jarna dominated at no. 2 singles with a 6-0, 6-3 win followed by
Katie Parr taking a 3 set win in the no. 3 spot.
Nicole Puga made quick work of her opponent, winning 6-3, 6-1 and
Lauren Dick gave the Wildcats the 6th point with a close 2 set win at no. 6.
