MARION, Ind. —
No. 20 Indiana Wesleyan Women's Tennis hosted their first match of the spring at the Sutter Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon, playing Lewis-Clark State College. The Wildcats secured the doubles point but could not hold off a strong Lewis-Clark State singles lineup, dropping a 6-1 decision.
Meribel Jarna and
Lauren Dick started the match with IWU's first win at no. 3 doubles, 6-1. LCS matched with a win at no. 1 singles, but
Maria Oliveira and
Katie Parr seized the doubles point for IWU by winning no. 2 doubles, 6-3. From there, it was all Lewis-Clark. The Wildcats fought hard, going to 3 sets at both no. 3 and 5 singles, but were unable to capture any more wins during the match. Women's Tennis moves to 10-6 before entering Crossroads play this weekend.
