KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Indiana Wesleyan Softball sophomore
Whitney Waddell was named as the NAIA Softball Player of the Week, as announced by the national office on Tuesday morning. This award comes after Waddell earned the Crossroads League Player of the Week yesterday. This is the first NAIA weekly award for her career and the first for Indiana Wesleyan Softball since 2022 (Miranda Wehrle).
Waddell did it all for IWU last week in Tucson, Arizona. The outfielder bat an astounding .607, with an OBP of .633 while providing the Wildcats with 13 runs and driving in 12 more, including a career high 7 RBIs against Park-Gilbert. Waddell collected a double, triple, and grand slam and ran the bases with a purpose, stealing 8 bases across the 8 games played.
Waddell and the Wildcats face off with Grace College in the Crossroads League opener today in Winona Lake, IN at 3:00 PM.
