GRIFFITH, Ind. —
No. 19 Indiana Wesleyan Women's Tennis lost a close match to Purdue University Northwest 3-4 on Friday at the Matchpoint Tennis Facility. IWU started strong securing the doubles point with wins on two courts. The pair of
Meribel Jarna and
Sofia Munoz triumphed at no. 1 doubles with a 6-2 score.
Nicole Puga and
Lauren Dick dominated no. 3 doubles, finishing with a decisive 6-2 result. The Pride would tie up the match at 1 with a win at no. 4 singles but Jarna would give the Wildcats the lead right back winning 7-6, 6-2 at no. 2 singles. Purdue Northwest then took no. 1 singles and no. 3 singles to go up 3-2.
Lauren Dick dominated at no. 6 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0 setting up a 3-3 score awaiting the result of no. 5 singles. IWU was unable to collect the win and lost the match 4-3.
