MARION, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan University Athletics is excited to announce the addition of Mario Kart as the fourth competitive game within its growing Esports varsity program. The new offering will officially begin competition during the 2026-27 academic year, joining the current options of Rocket League, Valorant, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
"Indiana has a huge Mario Kart scene in the high school leagues, but it's become much more of a niche Esport among colleges and universities," said
Ryan Plummer, Head Esports Coach. "With this addition, Indiana's top high school Mario Kart players will get an opportunity to continue their passion while they pursue their educational goals."
