MARION, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan University Athletics is excited to announce the addition of Overwatch as the fifth competitive game within its growing Esports varsity program. The new offering will officially begin competition during the 2026-27 academic year, joining the current options of Rocket League, Valorant, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and the recently added Mario Kart.

"Overwatch has been a staple of Collegiate Esports for a few years now, so we are very excited to add it to the roster here at IWU," said Ryan Plummer, Head Esports Coach. "The game's strong emphasis on communication and teamwork will provide unique ways for our student-athletes to grow as people, not just as competitors."
