MARION, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan is excited to announce the hiring of Mathew Bair as the next head coach of the Baseball program.
"When we began the search for our next baseball coach, our goal was to find a veteran coach that could lead our team well on the field and towards Christ," said
Deane Webb, Director of Athletics. "Our baseball team has been on quite a journey over the last few years, experiencing considerable competitive success as well as life changing spiritual growth. I am thankful God has brought Coach Bair to us, and I look forward to working alongside him."
Bair arrives at Indiana Wesleyan after spending eight years as the Head Coach at NCAA Division III Anderson University. He compiled a 173-133 in his eight seasons, posting 20 or more wins in every season except the pandemic shortened 2019-2020 season. He recorded a winning season in all but one season at the helm for the Ravens and qualified for the HCAC conference tournament in each season. He coach two All-Americans, three Conference Players of a Year, 16 All-Region Selections, 45 All-Conference Selections, 12 All-Tournament Selections, and 50 Academic All-Conference Selections.
During his playing career at Anderson University he won three NCAA Division III conference championships, one NCAA Mid-East Regional championship and played in the 1998 NCAA Division III College World Series.

"It is evident that IWU has a passion and expectation for excellence in everything they do. I am grateful for the administration and their trust in me to continue the tradition of leading young men to Christ and betterment in their lives through the game."
Bair earned his Bachelor's degree in Education at Anderson University in 2001 before getting his Master's degree in Athletic Administration from Ball State University in 2005.
