MARION, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan Men's Tennis lost 4-3 on an extremely windy day to a tough Georgetown College team. Georgetown avenged a 4-3 loss at their place last year. The Wildcats won doubles by winning at no. 2 and 3 doubles.
Leif Clerc and
Timo Fischer dominated at no. 2 doubles with a 6-1 victory and that was quickly followed by a win at no. 3 doubles. by
Riley Fuqua and
Isaiah Hostetler 6-3.
Up 1-0, the singles took an unfortunate turn when IWU had to default mid match at no. 1 and 4 singles due to illness. Down 2-1, Fischer and Clerc won their matches in 10 point super tiebreakers to put IWU up 3-2. The Wildcats lost at no. 5 singles 10-6 in a super tiebreaker and at no. 6 in straight sets.

- "The conditions were unbelievably windy today with gusts up to 35 miles per hour. Some of the boys played incredible matches in the wind and fought back to win 3 sets," said Head Coach James Gleghorn. "Isaiah and Riley fought so hard, but just couldn't find the last point for us. We will continue to get better and mentally stronger."
