OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - No. 10 Indiana Wesleyan women's tennis dropped their final match of the ITA Indoor National Championship against No. 6-ranked Xavier (La.) and finished the tournament in sixth place. The doubles teams of Breann Barger/Melanie Dveksler and Emily Connolly/Sofia Loren Munoz secured the early 1-0 lead for the Wildcats, but Xavier swept singles play to hand IWU their second loss of the season, 1-4.

LOOKING FORWARD

 

• "Then women lost to close matches to top-10 teams to open the spring," said James Gleghorn, Head Tennis Coach. "This was a great gauge of where we are, and I believe it points to a bright spring. We had moments of complete dominance in doubles with Bre/Mel and Sofia/Emily, and I think we are probably a little stronger at one and two this spring. We still have some work to do in singles and will probably continue to work some more players in the line-up in the coming weeks. I am proud of the effort and the way we represented IWU!"
