CARTER AND JOHNSON VOTED AFCA NAIA ALL-AMERICANS

MARION, Ind. - The 2022 American Football Coaches' Association (AFCA) NAIA All-America Teams were announced Thursday with two Wildcats receiving honors. Jacquez Carter earned a spot on the First Team, while Justin Johnson was voted to the Second Team. Carter adds this honor to his season collection that includes the MSFA Offensive Player of the Year award. Johnson earns All-American status for the second year in a row. These two helped lead the Wildcat squad to a 11-2 overall record and a semifinal birth in the NAIA Football Championship Series.

The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best — the coaches themselves.

COACH LANG'S PERSPECTIVE

  • “I am very excited for Jacquez and Justin to be awarded this very deserving recognition. They have consistently produced at a very high level against the best teams in the country. We are so grateful for their time as Wildcats!”
