Early Wildcat Lead Sinks Huntington

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan men’s basketball used a 26-point first-half lead Tuesday, propelling the Wildcats to a 97-64 win over Huntington University. Indiana Wesleyan moves to 23-4 on the season and 13-2 in Crossroads League play. The Foresters drop to 13-14 and currently sit on the bubble for making the League Tournament.

 

Tim Adetukasi knocked down a career-high 16 points while grabbing eight rebounds.

 

INSIDE THE BOX

  • IWU knocked down 6 of their 13 threes in the first half, while HU knocked down just 3 of their 13. IWU finished the first half 18-of-32 from the floor on 56% shooting.
  • Seth Maxwell owned the paint in the first half, shooting 6-of-7 for a game and Wildcat high 12 points in the first half. Maxwell finished the game with a game-best of 18 points.
  • Noah Smith finished with six points, eight rebounds, and ten assists, which is a new career-high. Smith handled the majority of the defensive duty on Konner Platt, holding the HU high scorer to just eight points.

 

THE LEAGUE

  • With just three regular-season games left, IWU sits in first place of the Crossroads League. IWU holds a one-game advantage over No.5 Marian and a four-game advantage over third-place foe No.23 Grace.
  • If the season ended today, Huntington and Goshen would not make the Crossroads League Tournament.
