Mangas Selected to Small College Basketball Hall of Fame

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Small College Basketball and the Hall of Fame committee announced former Indiana Wesleyan University men's basketball standout Kyle Mangas will be inducted as part of its 2026 Hall of Fame class.

Mangas, who played for the Wildcats from 2017 to 2021, is one of ten players in the 2026 class, which also included a coach and a contributor. The 2026 class marks the tenth group to be inducted into the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame, totaling 111 of the most elite student-athletes and coaches in the history of the game at the non-Division I level.

"Kyle Mangas not only proved he was one of the most talented players in the country, but he was an absolute winner who made everybody else around him better," said Greg Tonagel, head men's basketball coach. "He is the mark of a true champion."

Mangas' accomplishments at Indiana Wesleyan are among the most storied in the history of the NAIA. A dominant force from the moment he stepped on campus, Mangas led the Wildcats to the 2018 NAIA National Championship as a freshman, leading the team in scoring during their title run.

His individual accolades place him in rare company in collegiate athletics. Mangas was a two-time NAIA National Player of the Year and remains one of the few players to be named an NAIA First Team All-American in all four years of his career. He also swept the Crossroads League Player of the Year honors in every season he competed, finishing as a four-time recipient.

In 2020, Mangas was named the winner of the prestigious Small College Basketball Bevo Francis Award, an honor presented annually to the player who had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball.

He left Indiana Wesleyan as the most decorated player in program history, currently holding the career records for points, field goals made, three-pointers made, games started, and minutes played.

The National Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at the Polk Theatre in Lakeland, FL, on Friday, November 6.
