WINONA LAKE, Ind. – Runs were plentiful on Tuesday afternoon in Winona Lake as Indiana Wesleyan University baseball won a wild 20-16 game over host Grace (Ind.). The teams combined for 43 hits, seven home runs, three triples, and 11 doubles. Nine pitchers were used in the game and 34 players in all competed in the contest.
SCORING EARLY AND OFTEN
Indiana Wesleyan scored four times in the first inning and never trailed on Tuesday. IWU scored runs in six different innings and five of those innings the Wildcats scored three or more runs. Grace scored in seven consecutive innings from the second to the eighth inning.
BOMBS AWAY!
The Wildcats clubbed five home runs from four different players. Ethan English hit a pair of home runs while Caleb Eder, Tanner Killian, and Brady West also hit long balls. Eder added a triple and a double while West and Tye Thixton had three doubles apiece.
EVERYTHING BUT THE SINGLE
Caleb Eder came extremely close to hitting for the cycle. The senior accumulated the home run, triple, and double but missed the elusive single to complete the rare feat. He finished 3-for-5 at the plate with a walk, four runs, and three RBIs.
EIGHT IS GREAT
Ethan English knocked in eight RBIs to lead all players. He was 4-of-5 at the plate with two home runs, a double, and four runs scored.

Indiana Wesleyan opens a weekend series at home on Friday vs. Bethel (Ind.). The teams plays a single game on Friday at 4 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.
