PULASKI, Tenn. – Martin Methodist (Tenn.) defeated Indiana Wesleyan University baseball 15-12 on Tuesday in Pulaski, Tennessee. The teams combined for 25 hits, 11 extra base hits, and 22 walks. The two teams are back at it on Wednesday for the second game in the series.
KEPT COMING BACK
Indiana Wesleyan trailed 6-0 after two innings but captured a 7-6 lead after four innings. Martin Methodist responded with a six run fourth inning to lead 12-7. Once again, Indiana Wesleyan stormed back with five runs over the next three innings to tie the score at 12-12 in the seventh inning. Martin Methodist scored three times in the home half of the seventh inning for the decisive result.
SEEING DOUBLE
Caleb Eder went 4-for-6 in the game with four doubles. He scored twice and finished with three RBIs. Meanwhile, Brady West clubbed a pair of home runs and now has six on the season.
FREE PASSES
The 9-inning game featured a total of 22 walks. Martin Methodist earned 13 free passes while Indiana Wesleyan added nine. Seven different Wildcats drew a walk with Ethan English and Steven Busby taking two walks each.
