Baseball Falls Twice at Taylor

UPLAND, Ind. -- Wildcat baseball dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Taylor (Ind.) in the IWU-TU Rivalry Games sponsored by Marion General Hospital. Taylor hit a walk-off home run in the opening game and then scored in each inning in game two to complete the doubleheader sweep.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Taylor built a 3-0 lead after 5 innings of play.
  • In the top of the 6th, Caleb Eder delivered an RBI single and Andrew Breytenbach followed with a 3-run home run to put Indiana Wesleyan up 4-3.
  • IWU took the 4-3 lead into the 7th inning. Taylor led the inning off with a double and Tanner Watson came up next and hit a walk-off home run for a 5-4 Taylor win.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Trojans scored at least one run in all six innings they came to bat. The big TU inning was the 5th when seven Trojans crossed the plate to extend their lead to 16-7.
  • The Wildcats held an early 3-0 lead after the top of the 1st inning. Brady West and Andrew Breytenbach each hit home runs.

  • Indiana Wesleyan hosts #RV Huntington (Ind.) on Monday at 4 p.m. The Crossroads League matchup will be a single 9-inning game.
