TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University baseball team fell 11-2 today to Concordia (Ill.) on Wednesday in a single 9-inning game at the Tucson Invitational in Tucson, Arizona.

Concordia scored early and often to gain a 7-0 lead after four innings. CU took the lead with one run in the second and built on their advantage with four in the third and two more in the fourth inning.

Indiana Wesleyan dented the scoreboard in the top of the seventh inning. A Jack Collingsworth, Jr. single, a Cam Monroe double, and an infield single by Logan Tomlinson loaded the bases. With two outs, Kaleb DeFreese singled up the middle to drive home two runs as IWU trailed 7-2. But Concordia would tack on three runs in the seventh and one more in the eighth for the 11-2 victory.

Collingsworth, Jr. finished with two hits for Indiana Wesleyan. Monroe, DeFreese, AJ Harris, and Trey Shigley each had one.

The Wildcats fall to 0-8 on the season while the Cougars improve to 3-0.

Indiana Wesleyan will play another single game tomorrow at 3 p.m. IWU battles Morningside (Iowa) in Tucson.
