INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Marian (Ind.) University took advantage of three Indiana Wesleyan University errors today to sweep a baseball doubleheader 9-3 and 6-2 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The three errors led to 10 unearned runs on Tuesday as Wildcat pitchers surrendered just five earned runs in the two losses. The unearned runs also led to a big inning for Marian in each game to blow the games wide open.
In game one the big Marian inning came in the fifth with Indiana Wesleyan leading 3-1. Marian scored eight runs in the inning to suddenly lead 9-3.
The big inning chased Wildcat starting pitcher Shane Bryant with two outs. He took the loss allowing nine runs -- three earned -- on 13 hits in 4.2 innings. Bryant walked one and struck out five.

IWU scored one run in the fourth but Marian regained a five run lead with a single run in the fifth before Indiana Wesleyan scored the game's final run in the sixth for the 6-2 score.
First baseman Peter Engle contributed a 2-for-2 game at the plate while catcher Javier Aponte and rightfielder Craig Dollens each delivered doubles. Engle and Aponte each contributed one RBI while Ridlen and Dollens each scored one run.
