MARION, Ind. -- Tim Zeigler allowed a ninth inning run in a complete game gem as Indiana Wesleyan University defeated top-seed Taylor (Ind.) University by a 6-1 score on Monday at Wildcat Field.
Indiana Wesleyan will next play the loser of Bethel (Ind.) College and Marian (Ind.) University at approximately 4:30 p.m. later today.
Zeigler allowed eight hits and one walk in nine innings of work for the Wildcats. He struck out six in earning his fourth victory of the season.
IWU pounded out 14 hits in the win with designated hitter TJ Fletcher, catcher Alex Ridlen and right fielder Derek Freds each earning three hits. Centerfielder Quinn Nofziger and Freds each batted home two RBIs in the in the victory for Indiana Wesleyan.
