LAKE WALES, Fla. -- Walsh (Ohio) University captured a 5-0 victory over the Indiana Wesleyan University baseball team on Saturday in the Warner Tournament in Lake Wales, Florida.
The bright spot on the day for the Wildcats was the work of the bullpen. IWU allowed no runs from the pen in 4-1/3 innings of work. Freshman Steven Thrasher scattered five hits in 3-1/3 innings while freshman Mike Lymberopolous did not allow a hit while striking out two in one inning.
Walsh scored their five runs with two in the second inning and three in the third inning off sophomore starting pitcher Tim Zeigler.
Indiana Wesleyan managed just three hits in the contest with singles by senior leftfielder TJ Fletcher, sophomore catcher Alex Ridlen and sophomore CJ Sandman.
The Wildcats are now 4-8 on the season.
Indiana Wesleyan will next play at IU-Southeast at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 11 in New Albany, Indiana.
