LINCOLN, NEB. - The Indiana Wesleyan baseball team survived a 16 inning test from 2-seed Concordia on Wednesday, pulling off a four run comeback to tie the game in the 8th and shutting out the Bulldogs over the last ten innings before
Caleb Engelsman recorded the second NAIA Opening Round walk off of his career with an RBI single that scored
Ty Mathews all the way from first. The Wildcats season would conclude later in the day at the hands of 1-seed Webber International.

- After picking up the first two outs of the inning quickly the Wildcats found themselves in trouble, falling behind 2-0 in the top of the 1st. Grant Payson answered for IWU, driving Kyle Wu home with an RBI single.
- Concordia hit a 2 run homer in the 2nd and added a run in the 3rd to extend their lead to 5-1. Ty Mathews responded with a home run of his own in the bottom of the 3rd.
- A fielding error by Indiana Wesleyan put the Bulldogs up 6-2 in the 4th. Nick Wiley kept IWU in the game with a solo shot to left field.
- After the Wildcats put their first 0 on the scoreboard defensively, Mathews cut the lead to 2 with a RBI single that scored Colin Yoder.
- CUNE added a run to their lead in the 6th with a RBI single. A sac fly from Mathews in the 7th again cut the lead to 2 and a Caleb Engelsman double scored Wu to cut the deficit to just 1.
- Greg Vineyard tied the game in the 8th on a Yoder sac bunt and Concordia error.
- The teams proceeded to go 7 straight scoreless innings before Engelsman walked off the game with an RBI single to right field, scoring Mathews.
- Ty Mathews went 2-6 with 3 RBIs and scored twice. Kyle Wu was 3-8 and scored 2 times.
- Brock Buckley went 7.1 innings in relief, just two days removed from a 9 inning complete game shutout. he tallied 7 strikeouts and allowed just 1 run on 4 hits. Kevin Corcoran picked up the win. in 4 innings, posting 4 strikeouts, 0 hits, and 0 runs.
- IWU took the lead in the top of the 1st on a Caleb Engelsman double to right field, scoring Ty Mathews. That would ultimately be the only run the Wildcats scored. Webber International scored 11 runs through 8 innings as Indiana Wesleyan struggled to get anything going following the 16 inning marathon earlier in the day.
