MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University men's tennis opened the Doc Richards Tennis Classic with a 9-0 victory over Indiana University-Southeast on Friday night at the Sutter Tennis Center.
Junior Ben Bischoff and sophomore Micah May won No. 1-doubles 8-3, junior Carson VandenBossche teamed with sophomore Matt Pedersen to win 9-7 in No. 2-doubles and freshman Matt Montgomery partnered with sophomore Luke Rasmussen for an 8-2 victory in No. 3 play.
The Wildcats proceeded to dominate in singles play by losing just one set.
Pedersen earned the point in No. 1-singles 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 and Bischoff won 6-2, 6-2 in No. 2 play. VandenBossche earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory in No. 3 while May played to a 7-5, 6-3 victory in No. 4 action. Montgomery pulled out a 6-3, 6-2 win in No. 5-singles and Rasmussen tallied a 6-2, 6-2 win in No. 6 play.
