Baseball Earns Doubleheader Split at Judson

ELGIN, Ill. -- Five runs in the final three innings prevented Indiana Wesleyan University baseball from completing a doubleheader sweep on Thursday at Judson (Ill.) University in Elgin, Illinois.

Indiana Wesleyan captured a 5-2 victory in the opener behind five strong innings from starting pitcher Josh Worrell. He earned the victory on the mound while CJ Sandmann was credited with the save as he pitched the final two innings.

The Wildcats seemed poised for the sweep as IWU held a 7-3 lead after five innings.

But a four run sixth inning for the Eagles tied the score at 7-7 and forced extra innings. Judson scored the winning run in the eighth for an 8-7 come from behind victory.

Indiana Wesleyan is now 9-15 on the season and will host their home opener on Saturday, March 21. The Wildcats will battle Siena Heights (Mich.) University in a doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Wildcat Field.
