Box Score WINONA LAKE, Ind. -- In a game that featured 14 ties and 25 lead changes saw Grace (Ind.) College upset No. 6-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University 85-80 in overtime on Saturday afternoon in Winona Lake, Indiana.
Indiana Wesleyan had a chance to finish the game in regulation as senior guard Antonio Murrell, an 82-percent free throw shooter, missed a pair of free throws with four seconds left and the game tied 71-71.
In overtime, Grace raced to the first six points to gain a 77-71 advantage. Indiana Wesleyan refused to falter and scored nine of the next 13 points to close the deficit to one point at 81-80 with half a minute on the clock.
The Wildcats stole the ball seconds later, but promptly turned the ball back over to Grace. IWU was forced to foul and the Lancers hit two free throws for an 83-80 lead.
Indiana Wesleyan had a chance to tie the score but missed a 3-pointer with less than 10 seconds left as the rebound went to Grace. The Lancers hit both free throws to ice the game 85-80.
The Indiana Wesleyan big men led the team with a pair of double-doubles. Senior forward Landon Adler had 25 points and 12 rebounds with junior Zach Coverstone adding 12 points and 13 boards.
Grace was also led by their two post players as senior center Eric Gaff knocked down 24 points and junior forward David Swanson ended with 21 points and 14 rebounds.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to the court at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20 as the Wildcats travel across Grant County to battle Taylor (Ind.) University.
