DAYTON, Tenn. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University baseball team earned a doubleheader split with Covenant (Ga.) College on Saturday afternoon in Dayton, Tennessee.
Indiana Wesleyan captured a decisive 14-7 victory in the opening game. Senior Brandon Moore earned the victory on the mound. Sophomore Ben Zachary was 4-for-4 from the plate with two doubles and three runs batted in.
In game two, the Wildcats dropped a 2-1 decision in 8 innings. Junior Brandon Beachy picked up the loss in relief. Senior Tim Pauley was excellent in his six inning start. He scattered two hits and allowed a single run.
Indiana Wesleyan now stands 1-3 on the season and Covenant is 3-9.
The Wildcats return to the diamond on March 3-8 as Indiana Wesleyan participates in the Spring Break Tournament at Clearwater, Florida.
