Box Score GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University men's basketball team opened up Mid-Central College Conference action with a bang on Tuesday night by defeating Goshen (Ind.) College 78-55 on the road.
Indiana Wesleyan controlled the contest from both ends of the floor as IWU shot 50.0-percent (27 of 54) from the field while holding Goshen to just 35.8-percent (19 of 53).
A balanced offensive attack baffled the Maple Leafs as four Wildcats scored 12 or more points, led by senior forward Landon Adler's 21 points. He was 5-of-7 from the floor and a perfect 11-of-11 from the charity stripe. Adler also grabbed a game-high eight boards.
Sophomore forward Will Hubertz added 15 points off the bench and was 5-of-7 from deep. Junior guard Spencer Harris chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds while junior forward Zach Coverstone finished the night with 12 points and six boards.
Indiana Wesleyan (8-2, 1-0 MCC) led Goshen 45-31 at the half as IWU was 6-of-9 from beyond the arc and 11-of-12 from the free throw line.
Goshen (6-4, 0-1 MCC) could get no closer than nine points in the second half when Indiana Wesleyan led 59-50 at the halfway point of the period. The 23 point margin of victory was the largest of the game.
Goshen guard Errick McCollum led all scorers with 26 points.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to the court at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, November 29 as the Wildcats battle Saint Joseph's College in an exhibition game in Rensselaer, Indiana.
