CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Indiana Wesleyan University women?s basketball team dominated with a 37-17 first half over Malone (Ohio) College en route to an 80-55 victory at the Cedarville University Tournament in Cedarville, Ohio.
Five Wildcats scored in double digits, led by junior Andrea Fichter?s 17 points. Fichter was 7-of-10 from the field while also collecting a team-high seven rebounds. Senior Lisa Thompson and freshman Kayla Thompson each recorded 14 points while freshman LeAnn Douglas scored 10 points. Senior Brooke Amstutz amassed a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists.
Indiana Wesleyan finished the evening by shooting a blistering 58.6-percent (34 of 58) from the field.
The Wildcats improve to 2-0 on the season as IWU has won 40 consecutive games. Malone falls to 0-1 to begin the season.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to the court at 1 p.m. in the second day of the Cedarville Tournament as the Wildcats play Daemen (N.Y.) College.
