WOMEN'S BASKETBALL STRUGGLES IN LOSS TO FORESTERS

HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Indiana Wesleyan Women's Basketball fell to Huntington, 68-51, in Platt Arena, as Huntington outshot Indiana Wesleyan with a 53.5 field goal percentage. Huntington secured a 17-point lead in the final quarter, sealing the win.

FIRST QUARTER

  • The red and grey opened with a narrow lead after Ellie Kelleher's 3-pointer at 6:55.
  • The Foresters responded with a strong inside presence, scoring 14 points in the paint, including a jumper by Allison Price at 5:54.
  • HU built momentum with a 10-point lead at 3:53, following Addie Shank's successful free throw.
  • HU led 19–10 at the end of the first quarter.

SECOND QUARTER

  • HU extended its lead early with a 3-pointer by Annaka Nelson at 8:39, followed by a jumper at 8:01.
  • The Wildcats responded with steals converting into points by Emily Mattingly and Jayd Hovey, narrowing the gap.
  • At 4:46, Nelson hit another 3-pointer, pushing HU's lead to 15 points, their largest of the quarter.
  • Myla Browning's late 3-pointer at 1:20 helped IWU close the second quarter trailing 33–21.
THIRD QUARTER
  • Indiana Wesleyan opened strong with Ayla Krygier converting a steal into a three-point play at 9:25, narrowing the Foresters' lead.  
  • Kelleher's 3-pointer at 6:55 sparked a push, reducing the margin to 8 points.  
  • The Wildcats continued to chip away, with Addi Hovey making key free throws at 5:17 to maintain pressure.  
  • The quarter ended with IWU cutting into HU's lead, trailing 47-40.

FOURTH QUARTER

  • HU extended their lead with a strong start, converting on key free throws and a 3-pointer by Annaka Nelson at 7:56.
  • Indiana Wesleyan's Krygier responded with a 3-pointer at 4:16, narrowing the gap slightly.
  • The Foresters maintained control, capitalizing on the Wildcats' fouls with Kyndra Sheets adding crucial free throws at 2:11.
  • HU closed the quarter with a 3-pointer by Price at 00:26, securing a 68–51 victory.
