Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University men?s basketball team earned a hard-fought 68-64 victory on the road Saturday night at Siena Heights (Mich.) University.
The fifth-ranked Wildcats led throughout the second half, but a scrappy Siena Heights (3-5) team refused to go down without a fight. IWU built an eight point lead just over a minute into the second half, but was unable to put SHU away as the Saints eventually pulled even with 5:30 remaining in the game.
Indiana Wesleyan (8-1) gained a four point lead with two minutes left and hit key free throws at the end of the contest to earn the victory. The Wildcats finished the game hitting 14-of-16 (87.5-percent) free throws to secure the win.
Sophomore Spencer Harris ended the night with a team-best 18 points, highlighted by a 7-of-8 night from the charity stripe. Junior Antonio Murrell poured in 14 points on 7-of-7 shooting while sophomore Zach Coverstone added 12 points. Sophomore Josh Williams provided the Wildcats a spark off the bench as he contributed six points and pulled down four offensive rebounds.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to the court at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, as the Wildcats open the Mid-Central College Conference schedule on the road at Goshen (Ind.) College.
