Box Score WABASH, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University defeated Humber (Canada) College 72-66 on Friday in the first night of competition at the Little Giant Tip-Off Classic in Wabash, Indiana.
The Wildcats built a lead as large as 16 points in the second half. Humber was able to cut in to the lead, but Indiana Wesleyan was able to hold the lead and escape with the six point victory.
Junior Antonio Murrell scored 23 points to lead the Wildcats. Freshman Will Hubertz added 13 points while sophomore Spencer Harris added 12 points and six assists. Sophomore Josh Williams played a key role in limited playing time for IWU. Late in the contest, Williams played four minutes and supplied energy as the Wildcats staved off the late Humber run. He scored a basket and took two charges.
Indiana Wesleyan is 5-1 on the season as Humber drops to 13-3-1.
The Wildcats return to action 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 17 as Indiana Wesleyan battles host Wabash (Ind.) College.
