GREENTOWN, Ind. —
No. 21 Indiana Wesleyan Women's Tennis welcomed Lawrence Tech and Taylor for the Doc Richards Tournament on Saturday and celebrated their seniors,
Sofia Munoz and
Maria Oliveira, in between matches. The Wildcats dominated all day, winning against LTU 4-0 and staying hot to sweep Taylor, 7-0. IWU did not drop a single set in any singles match across either contest.
In the first match,
Sofia Munoz and
Nicole Puga took care of their no. 1 doubles opponent, 6-0.
Lauren Dick and
Meribel Jarna secured the doubles point with a win at no. 3 doubles. IWU carried that momentum into the singles matches. Munoz won her no. 1 match, 6-1, 6-1 and
Meribel Jarna followed with a 6-1, 6-4 victory in the no. 2 spot. Puga captured the final match point with her win at no. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-3.
After celebrating senior day, the Wildcats got back to business with a conference match against Taylor. Munoz & Puga,
Maria Oliveira &
Katie Parr, and Dick & Jarna swept the doubles matches to start 1-0 in favor of IWU. The Wildcats also swept the singles matches against the Trojans, highlighted by Parr, Puga, and Dick all winning 6-0, 6-0.
