FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan Softball lost their first game of the 2026 Crossroads League Tournament against Spring Arbor University in a close battle that went to extra innings, 3-2. The Wildcats never led in the game and had to come back from 2-1 to tie it to eventually go into an 8th inning. The Cougars took the lead in the top of the 8th and closed it out to advance to the next round and send IWU to an elimination game.
The Cougars took the 1-0 lead with a home run in the 2nd inning but IWU answered immediately with a run in the bottom of the 2nd. SAU scored another in the next inning to make it 2-1. The Wildcats tied it back up at 2 in the bottom of the 4th with a
Danica Fuller single. Neither team would score for the rest of the regulation innings, sending it to an 8th frame. Another home run from Spring Arbor gave them the 3-2 lead and a scoreless defensive inning gave them the victory.
