GOSHEN, Ind. — Indiana Wesleyan Men's Tennis traveled to No. 23 Goshen College for the Quarterfinal of the Crossroads League Tournament on Monday morning. Just two days ago, the two teams faced each other in the final regular season match with the Maple Leafs winning. However, the Wildcats competed hard and came out with the 4-3 win on the final singles match of the day.
Timo Fischer &
Valentino Trento won their no. 2 doubles match first, followed by a Goshen win at no. 3 doubles.
Matheus Lima &
Michail Klinkov clinched the doubles point with a win at no. 1 doubles to give IWU the early lead. Klinkov earned the first singles point with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the no. 2 spot. In the next singles match to finish, the Maple Leafs collected their first point at no. 6. Lima was the next to win with a 6-2, 7-6 result at no. 1 to give IWU 3 points. Goshen captured wins at no. 5 then no. 3 to tie the contest at 3 with one match still to finish.
Timo Fischer battled through injuries as he found a way to win the match in a third set tiebreaker to secure the upset win for the Wildcats.

NEXT TIME OUT
- The Wildcats move on to the Semifinal to face the winner of the Grace and Spring Arbor match. The Semifinal will be hosted at Indiana Wesleyan regardless of the winner.
