Game Recap: Softball |

High Powered Offense Leads to Three Softball Wins over Taylor

UPLAND, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan Softball matched up with Taylor University on Saturday afternoon in a tripleheader. Game 1 was a continuation of a suspended game that took place originally on March 26th. The game was suspended with IWU leading 7-2 and finished with a score of 10-2. The second game of the day was the first game of the regularly scheduled doubleheader at Taylor with the Wildcats winning 8-4. Game 3 also saw IWU score 8 runs in a victory.

The Wildcats picked up where they left off with a run in the bottom of the 4th, the first inning of today, to make it 8-2. They would finish it off an inning later with 2 more runs to end the game via run rule.

The second game of the day started with two straight 2 run innings for Indiana Wesleyan. Later in the 5th inning, IWU produced 4 runs to take an 8-0 lead with a chance at another run rule win. However, the Trojans battled back to score 3 of their own and force the game to continue. The score remained the same until Taylor scored another in the bottom of the 7th but the Wildcats won 8-4.

In the final game of the day, IWU spread out the offense over the course of the ballgame. They led 1-0 after the 1st inning then added a run in the 3rd. TU matched with a run in the bottom of the 3rd but that was the only run they would muster for the rest of the day. The Wildcats poured in 4 runs to extend the lead to 6-1 then added 2 more in the 6th to push it to 8-1 which would end up being the final score.
