KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Indiana Wesleyan Women's Tennis senior
Sofia Munoz won the NAIA League Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the national office on Tuesday afternoon. This is Munoz's first NAIA player of the week award in her career and the first for Indiana Wesleyan since 2022 (Lena Golz).
Munoz went unbeaten last week with two wins at No. 1 doubles against North Greenville (D2) and Truett McConnell, both partnered with Nicole Puga. The senior won 6-1, 6-1 in her first No. 1 singles match of the week against North Greenville, then collected a 6-2, 6-2 No. 1 singles win against Truett McConnell.
"Sofia has done so much for this program and she so deserves to be recognized as national player of the week," said Women's Tennis head coach James Gleghorn. "She led us all week of spring break and played amazing tennis. The only thing better than her tennis is who she is as a person and Christ follower. I am so proud and grateful for Sofia!"
