GOSHEN, Ind. - No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan Women's Soccer traveled to Goshen College for a Saturday afternoon match. The Wildcats were dominant across the board, firing a season high 41 shots as a team and only allowing one, and came away with a 5-0 victory.
Alyssa Hamann started the scoring for IWU with her second penalty kick goal of the season. Soon after, Sam Anderson scored her first career goal taking a corner kick in the 29th minute. Freshman Breena Ireland continued the barrage and gave the Wildcats the 3-0 lead in the 32nd minute. Sydney Couch scored the final goal of the first half to go into halftime up 4-0. ANDERSON PERSPECTIVE
- "It was a great team effort win! We had a lot of people involved in the goals and overall win today," said defender Sam Anderson. "I was excited to get a goal as corner kicks are something I work hard at, Kate did a great job blocking out the goalie's view and the wind was definitely a help in the finish. We wouldn't have had the end score if every single player hadn't showed up and brought the energy for the full 90 minutes and I am blessed to be a part of this team."
LOOKING FORWARD
- The Wildcats will start a three game homestand on Wednesday the 14th against Mount Vernon Nazarene.
