Season In Review: 2025 Women's Soccer

MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan Women's Soccer finished their season with a 15-4-1 overall record and a 7-1-1 Crossroads conference record. Under first year head coach Hannah Shay, IWU finished 2nd in the conference standings and qualified for the NAIA Tournament for the 7th consecutive year. The Wildcats would host and win their NAIA Tournament Second Round match and advanced to the Round of 16 where they fell to the eventual national champions Keiser University.


TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
  • IWU finished the year with 4 Top 25 wins.
  • This season was highlighted by outstanding defense as the Wildcats had 11 shutouts and did not allow any team to score more than one goal in a game.
  • IWU ranked as high as No. 6 in the country in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, their highest ranking since the 2010 season when they ranked No. 5 in the NAIA.
  • Two Wildcats were voted as Crossroads Players of the Year and two were named as NAIA All-Americans, the first time multiple players were named All-Americans since 2022.
 
 
NAIA RANKINGS
  • T-3rd - 9 goals allowed
  • 6th - .45 goals allowed per game
  • T-15th - 11 shutouts
  • 17th - 406 shots
  • 18th - 20.3 shots per game
  • 25th - 113 corner kicks


INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
  • Avery Sluss locked down the net from opposing offenses, winning Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Week twice and NAIA Defensive Player of the Week once. Sluss was named to the NAIA All-American Second Team for her season performance.
  • Sophomore Savanna Cronin was voted as the Crossroads Defensive Player of the Year award and joined Sluss on the NAIA All-American Second Team.
  • Forward Avery Williams was named as the Crossroads League Co-Newcomer of the Year as a freshman who led the IWU offense with 11 goals and 23 points.
  • Sarah Foulk earned CSC Academic All-American for her work on the field and in the classroom.
