UPLAND, Ind. – No. 12 Indiana Wesleyan Softball battled top seeded Marian University in the Crossroads League Tournament on Thursday afternoon. The Knights defeated IWU 12-7. With the loss, the Wildcats will play the Saint Francis Cougars tomorrow at 11:00 AM.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

 


 

• The Knights came out hot and scored 5 in the 1st inning.
• As they usually do, IWU answered right back with 5 runs of their own, 4 of which came from a Whitney Waddell grand slam!
• Marian scored 2 more in the 2nd to take the lead back, 7-5.
• In the 5th inning, the Wildcats cut the lead down to 1 when Sadie Harding hit a SAC Fly to score Maddie Seitz from 3rd base.
• Another big inning from the MU offense extended the lead to 12-6 in the 6th inning.
• IWU attempted a comeback in the top of the 7th, scoring 1 run courtesy of a Maddie Martin single but was unable to produce anything more.

 

NEXT TIME OUT

 

 

• The Wildcats face the University of Saint Francis tomorrow morning at 11:00 AM and a win will force a rematch with Marian at 1:00 PM.
