NO. 12 SOFTBALL MOVES ON IN CROSSROADS LEAGUE TOURNAMENT

UPLAND, Ind. – No. 12 Indiana Wesleyan Softball competed in their first matchup of the 2025 Crossroads League Tournament on Wednesday evening against Spring Arbor University. The Wildcats came out victorious over the Cougars, 3-2. With the win, IWU gets matched up with No. 13 Marian in a No. 1 and 2 seeded battle tomorrow.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
 
 


 
  • Spring Arbor struck first in the top of the 3rd inning, scoring 1 run.
  • Indiana Wesleyan answered right away with 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. After Malayni Clemens and Leah May both reached base safely to start the inning, Whitney Waddell hit a single up the middle to score 1. A Morgan Yeater walk loaded the bases and then a Courtney Thomas walk scored 1 more to give IWU the 2-1 lead.
  • In the next inning, Waddell batted home another run and the Wildcats led 3-1.
  • SAU scored 1 in the top of the 7th but Jordyn Ball shut down the Cougars comeback attempt recording another win for her fantastic season.

  • "This was a great postseason game and a phenomenal win!" said Head Coach Steve Babinski. "We had to be crafty and create ways to score and I am so proud of these girls for playing for each with a ton of energy! After the game they spent time together worshipping God on the bus…it was beautiful!"
