GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

  • Game 2 turned into a high scoring affair early on. MVNU started the 1st inning with a run and IWU scored with 2 RBI singles from Abby Harvey and Courtney Thomas.
  • The Cougars turned it on and put 6 more runs on the board in the 3rd inning.
  • As they have done all year, Indiana Wesleyan scored right back in the same inning. Malayni Clemens scored 1 and loaded the bases before Leah May doubled and cleared all the base runners. Yeater doubled as well and brought May home to tie the game at 7-7.
  • IWU scored 1 more in the 4th and 2 more in the 5th.
  • After Malayni Clemens shut out the Cougars for 3 innings, the offense poured it on. Maddie Martin started it off with another home run that hit off the scoreboard outside the fence in left center. Yeater gained another RBI with an infield single. In poetic fashion, the senior Abby Harvey ended the game with a 2 run double to center field which ended the game by run rule, 15-7.
  • With the win, IWU earned their 40th on the season for the 10th year in a row!

BABINSKI PERSPECTIVE

  • "I'm so proud of our Wildcats on senior day," said Head Coach Steve Babinksi. "They battled a red hot Cougar team and found a way to overcome our own miscues, tough pitching, and their high powered attack. This team impresses me with their never say die fight! They keep looking to God and playing for each other…so the skies the limit for them!"
