MARION, IND.    . - The Indiana Wesleyan baseball dropped their seventh straight game on Saturday, being swept by No. 11 Taylor in the final two games of the series. despite the losing streak IWU has been within four runs in five of the seven losses.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• Taylor took a 3-0 lead in the 1st with a pair of home runs.
• IWU responded in the 2nd with runs from Jackson Mott, Andrew Sinish, and Colin Yoder.
• The Trojans added a run in each of the 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th innings to push their lead to 7-3.
• The Wildcats scored twice in the bottom of the 8th on runs from Nick Wiley and Sinish to pull within 2 runs but were unable to plate the tying run to extend the game in the 9th.
• Kyle Wu went 2-4 with 2 RBIs in the loss.

 

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• IWU took the lead in the bottom of the 1st with a Caleb Engelsman RBI single that scored Kyle Wu.
• TU tied the game in the 2nd and took the lead in the 3rd with a run in each inning.
• The Wildcats regained the lead in the 5th on RBI singles from Ty Mathews and Andrew Sinish that scored Grant Payson and Wu.
• Indiana Wesleyan held the lead until the final inning where the gave up 4 runs. The offense was unable to get anything going in the bottom of the 7th as the Wildcats dropped their 7th straight game.
• Ty Mathews was 2-3 with 1 RBI.
• Gabe Stout went 6 innings on the mound with 2 strikeouts and gave up 3 runs on 7 hits.
