MARION, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan Men's Tennis played late afternoon indoors instead of at home at 11:00 AM and it was worth the wait. The match was a back and forth day with IWU winning doubles point when
Timo Fischer and
Leif Clerc won a tiebreaker 7-5 to break the 1-1 doubles deadlock.
In singles, Campbellsville quickly tied the score 1-1 with a quick victory at no. 2 singles. IWU went up 2-1 with
Valentino Trento winning 6-4, 6-2. Campbellsville took the next two matches at no. one and three singles. At three singles,
Leif Clerc lost a dramatic 10-8 super tiebreaker. Down 3-2, IWU needed to win the last two matches going on, five and six singles.
Isaiah Hostetler, won first with 6-3, 6-3 win over a tough opponent. The win set up a 3-3 match with
Riley Fuqua playing six. Riley rebounded from yesterday's tough loss to clinching the victory today with a 6-4, 6-3 win. This is Fuqua's second time clinching a match this spring.
